About Charleston Wood Co.

Charleston Wood Co. is a small, family-owned business built on a simple idea: make wood goods that are meant to be used, enjoyed, and kept around. What started in a garage in 2012 has grown into a hands-on woodworking shop on James Island, where we design and build each piece ourselves.

We create thoughtfully crafted wood goods designed to bring people together — from cutting and charcuterie boards to barware, coasters, bottle openers, and custom pieces. Every item is made using quality hardwoods, careful craftsmanship, and designs that balance function, personality, and longevity.

You can find our work year-round at our permanent booth at the downtown open-air market on Market Street, as well as online and directly from our shop. Whether someone is shopping for a meaningful gift, furnishing their kitchen or bar, or looking for something custom, our goal is always the same: build solid, well-made pieces that feel personal and stand the test of time.

We’re proud to be local, hands-on, and closely involved in every step of the process — from design and shaping to engraving and finishing. No mass production. No shortcuts. Just honest work, done in Charleston, and made to be used.
